The Renewal Deadline for Old Driver's Licenses Extended to July 31, 2025

The deadline for renewing old-type driver's licenses has been extended to July 31, 2025, following a statement by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. This extension, carried out under the Temporary Article 10 of the Highway Traffic Regulation, aims to allow citizens to complete their transactions on time.

It is reported that there are currently 5,413,148 old-type driver's licenses in Turkey. Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated that the time granted for the renewal of these licenses has been extended in consideration of current conditions and citizens' needs. The goal is to prevent congestion that may occur at provincial and district population offices and healthcare institutions where health reports are obtained for license renewal.

The extension allows citizens to renew their old-type driver's licenses without facing any inconveniences. Minister Yerlikaya called on citizens to complete their renewal processes by the end of the specified period, emphasizing the importance of avoiding congestion at population offices or healthcare institutions to prevent citizens from being inconvenienced. He highlighted that the renewal process should proceed smoothly in this context.

The renewal process is expected to affect many individuals across Turkey. Therefore, it is advisable for citizens to complete their transactions as soon as possible without waiting for the deadline to approach, which will help to mitigate potential congestion and disruptions.
