GEN Connects with Students for the Third Time This Year Through its Value-Adding Project, uniGEN, in the Pharmaceutical Sector

Foreks - One of Turkey's fastest-growing pharmaceutical companies, GEN, is meeting with students for the third time this year through its value-adding project uniGEN. In collaboration with Turkey's most prestigious higher education institutions, the project has reached over 1,000 students to date, offering significant opportunities to young individuals preparing for the industry.

GEN provides high-quality solutions for rare diseases and unmet health needs, and through its human-centered and bold vision, investments, and strong global partnerships, it continues to strengthen its impact both nationally and internationally. Utilizing over 25 years of experience not only in production capacity but also in projects that add value to the Turkish pharmaceutical sector, GEN supports this vision with its implemented uniGEN project.

The uniGEN project involves students from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, and Chemistry Departments of Hacettepe University, Ankara University, and Gazi University, carrying the distinction of being a first in Turkey. Through the elective course “Industrial Applications in Pharmacy” added to the curriculum of the relevant departments, students have the opportunity to closely understand GEN and the industry while gaining crucial experience for their career development through practical presentations.

Erdal Çam, the Human and Culture Director of GEN, noted that interest in the project, which was awarded the Bronze Award at the 2024 Brandon Hall Group™ HCM Excellence Awards®, has been increasing each year: "We take pride in providing academic contributions to students through our award-winning project uniGEN and thus supporting the growing interest in the sector. Through the ‘Industrial Applications in Pharmacy’ course offered in the project, students have the chance to closely monitor the sector's production activities and focus on the right career goals by communicating with all departments. To illustrate this situation with a beautiful example; some of our friends who graduated from uniGEN have quickly defined their goals in the industry by joining GEN in the Licensing, Technology Transfer, R&D, and Quality Control departments. We believe that our project makes a significant contribution to the human resources in the Turkish pharmaceutical industry, and we will continue to meet and support students who will shape our future."
