The 'cost of living' for a single worker has also risen to 26,526.77 TL monthly. According to TURK-İŞ data, the changes in the "kitchen inflation" figures as of October 2024 are as follows: The increase in the minimum expenditure required for food for a four-person family living in Ankara compared to the previous month was 3.03%. The ten-month change rate was 41.57%. Over the last twelve months, the change rate was calculated to be 49.31%. The annual average increase was 68.07%. The amounts calculated by our confederation are not wage levels but the total income amount that should enter the household. The changes in food product prices collected directly from the market for TURK-İŞ calculations, divided by expenditure groups as of October 2024, were as follows: In the dairy group (milk, yogurt, cheese); There was no significant change in the prices of milk and yogurt this month in the dairy group, which has high daily consumption, but a partial increase in cheese prices was observed. However, a decrease in product variety on supermarket shelves was noted. In the group containing meat, chicken, fish, eggs, and dry legumes; After a slight decrease last month, beef prices increased by 5% this month, while lamb prices increased by 3%. A 3% increase in chicken prices per kilogram was also observed this month. The variety of fish products increased. The prices of seasonal fish such as hake, anchovy, and bonito decreased by 5% compared to the previous month. The price per egg remained above 4 TL this month. In the dry legumes group, a 3% decrease in the price of dried beans was observed. Changes in the prices of other products were noted due to competition, but overall, no significant change in prices was detected. In the fresh vegetables-fruits group; Fresh fruit and vegetable prices increased this month due to the rise in vegetable prices. Market vendors complain about the decrease in customers due to the declining purchasing power. As always, seasonal products commonly used in food expenditure were taken into account in the calculations. The prices of potatoes and dry onions, which are closely monitored every month, remained stable this month. An average decrease of 22.5% in fruit prices was determined, while vegetable prices saw an average increase of 21%. The average price per kilogram for vegetables (excluding salad greens like parsley, curly lettuce, etc.) was 50.21 TL, while the average price per kilogram for fruits was 53.12 TL. This month, the price changes for a total of 32 products, consisting of 24 vegetables and 8 fruits, were taken into account. The average price per kilogram of fruits and vegetables was determined to be 50.94 TL (salad greens like parsley and curly lettuce that complement main dishes are included in this calculation of "Average Fruit-Vegetable Price"). In the group containing products like bread, rice, flour, pasta, bulgur, and semolina; The price of bread remained unchanged. Among other products, pasta saw the largest increase at 7.5%. A 5% increase in flour prices was also detected. No significant changes in the prices of rice, bulgur, and semolina were observed. In the group containing essential oil products; In this group with essential oil products, sunflower oil continued to rise, as it did last month. A 2.5% increase in the price of butter per kilogram was also noted. The prices of olive oil and margarine remained stable. However, a decrease in product variety on the shelves for both olive oil and sunflower oil was observed. A decrease was noted in the price of green olives, while the price of black olives increased. In the last group containing other food items; In the last group, a partial increase was found only in the price of black pepper among spice products (cumin, mint, black pepper, etc.), while prices remained stable overall. The increase in tea prices reflected on the labels this month, with a 5% rise per kilogram detected. The price of linden also increased this month.
