One Card for All: Minister Uraloğlu's Announcement on "Turkey Card" for 81 Provinces

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made important statements regarding the Turkey Card system, under which transportation cards will be consolidated under a single umbrella throughout Turkey, via social media. According to evaluations, this innovative system will be implemented in 18 provinces by the end of 2024.

How to obtain the Turkey Card? Citizens who wish to acquire the Turkey Card can obtain various types of cards through PTT branches. Those wanting to purchase a non-schemed Turkey Card can do so for 40 lira, while Debit and Prepaid Turkey Cards will be available for 60 lira. Additionally, special efforts are being made for individuals with disabilities, relatives of martyrs, veterans, and citizens aged 65 and older. These initiatives aim to ensure that everyone can benefit from ease of transportation.

This new application is viewed as an important step towards simplifying transportation by offering the opportunity for public transport users to travel in different regions with a single card. The ministry aims to further enhance the system based on user feedback throughout the process.

Provinces and routes where the Turkey Card will be used With the launch of the application, the Turkey Card is already active in provinces such as Konya, Kayseri, Gümüşhane, and Yozgat. The card is also operational on the Gayrettepe-New Airport routes in Istanbul and will extend its services to a wider area by the end of 2024. It will be valid in major transportation lines including Marmaray in Istanbul, Başkentray in Ankara, and İzban in İzmir, as well as in provinces such as Rize, Kocaeli, Aksaray, Karabük, Tokat, Uşak, Kahramanmaraş, Nevşehir, Kilis, Çorum, and Gaziantep.

Citizens residing in these provinces will not have to change tickets or cards while traveling between cities due to the integration of the card for intercity transit, which is expected to provide significant convenience for both local residents and intercity travelers. The ministry states that efforts to popularize this system are continuing without slowing down.
