Turkey's LPG Imports Decreased by 4.22% in August
In August 2024, LPG imports conducted by refinery and distributor license holders decreased by 4.22% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 375,052 tons. The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) published the "LPG Market Sector Report" for August.
According to the ranking of countries with the highest imports during the relevant month, LPG was imported from eight different countries: Algeria, the USA, the Russian Federation, Nigeria, Senegal, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Total LPG production by refinery license holders in August decreased by 14.23% compared to the same month last year, amounting to 82,864 tons. LPG exports conducted by refinery and distributor license holders increased by 142.31%, reaching 45,957 tons.
In terms of the ranking of countries for LPG exports in August, shipments were made to 11 different countries/regions: Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Greece, Germany, Seychelles, Switzerland, Denmark, and Turkey.
- Domestic Sales - Distributor license holders sold a total of 386,667 tons of LPG in August, including 53,388 tons of bottled LPG, 9,463 tons of bulk LPG, and 323,816 tons of autogas LPG. Sales of bottled LPG decreased by 5.80%, bulk LPG sales fell by 37.29%, and autogas sales decreased by 3.67%. Thus, total LPG sales showed a decline of 5.21%.
In August, bottled LPG captured a market share of 13.81%, bulk LPG accounted for 2.45%, and autogas held a share of 83.75%. Distributor license holders sold 4,846 tons of Standardized LPG.
