President Erdoğan: "Our Aim is a Terror-Free Turkey"
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan responded to journalists' questions upon his return from a visit to Tatarstan, making significant statements on current issues. He emphasized his unwavering commitment to combating terrorism. Erdoğan mentioned that they are pursuing a multi-faceted strategy in the fight against terrorism, highlighting their goal of ensuring lasting peace and security in the country. He expressed that obstacles in the path of making Turkey a growing and strengthening nation would no longer be tolerated, and reiterated the policy of eliminating terrorism at its source. He stated, "Terrorists are puppets; they are subcontractors. Our goal is a terror-free Turkey."
Erdoğan also addressed questions regarding BRICS countries and expressed Turkey’s desire to strengthen relations with BRICS. He emphasized the importance of cooperation with emerging economies and described BRICS as a significant platform. Erdoğan reiterated his long-standing advocacy for trade using national and local currencies and announced positive steps in this direction. He emphasized the win-win approach in the financial sector and mentioned their initiatives against international arms embargoes, particularly pointing out the necessity of a comprehensive embargo against Israel.
In terms of bilateral diplomatic relations and prisoner exchanges, Erdoğan discussed the potential for positive developments regarding Eurofighter with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, which also included discussions on machinery and parts purchases. He noted that discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin focused on expectations around prisoner exchanges, expressing his belief in resolving issues through diplomacy. Furthermore, he mentioned the anticipation of a visit from a Chinese delegation and expressed intentions to enhance strategic partnership relations with China, suggesting the possibility of new initiatives.
