Trump Administration Plans to Appoint Crypto Advisor to the White House
The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump's administration is considering the creation of a special task force focused on cryptocurrency policies at the White House.
According to Bloomberg, this position will facilitate direct connections with the administration regarding issues related to the digital asset sector. The Trump team has not yet decided whether the new role will be positioned as a senior White House position or as a "crypto czar" across the entire federal government. Advocates of the crypto sector hope this position will establish a direct line of communication with Trump.
During his campaign, Trump promised comprehensive reforms regarding crypto policies. These reforms include combating anti-crypto legislative initiatives, appointing individuals with close ties to the sector as financial regulators, and establishing a Bitcoin Reserve. Bloomberg reported that Trump has been meeting with potential candidates for this position at Mar-a-Lago, and his team has not yet made any official comments on the process.
The search for candidates continues. This new position, aimed at establishing a permanent crypto advisor at the White House, is considered a strong tool for bringing favorable regulations to the cryptocurrency sector. Among the potential candidates mentioned for this advisory role is former Binance.US executive Brian Brooks. Brooks is seen as a strong candidate within the crypto community. David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, who informally advised Trump on crypto during the campaign, stated that establishing a Bitcoin Reserve is an urgent and transformative policy to ensure the growth of Bitcoin.
The administration's new advisory role aims to create strong allies within the sector, though its job description remains unclear. This development also signals an increasing support for the crypto sector from within the federal government.
