Turkcell Launches New Chapter of "Women Who Write the Future" Project
Foreks - Turkcell (IS:TCELL) is launching a new chapter of the "Geleceği Yazanlar" Program, which has been running for 11 years, under the initiative called "Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar." This year, the "Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar Yapay Zekâ" project aims to increase women's participation in artificial intelligence, enhance their skills, help them realize their potential in the digital workforce, and nurture women leaders. The project is designed to enrich Turkey's competitiveness in the field of artificial intelligence through comprehensive educational programs focusing on both technical and personal development.
Turkcell has already reached more than 10 million people through the "Geleceği Yazanlar" Program. With the launch of the "Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar Yapay Zekâ," the aim is to reach 15,000 women, enhancing their competencies in artificial intelligence, supporting them in developing innovative project ideas, and encouraging their active roles in the technology sector.
Turkcell's CEO, Dr. Ali Taha Koç, stated, "As the locomotive of Turkey's digital transformation, we are continuously working to position our country as a leader in this change while technology evolves rapidly. In this context, we initiated the 'Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar Yapay Zekâ' project, a new chapter of our program that has supported the future software developers for 11 years. With this project, we aim to contribute to women's participation in the field of artificial intelligence, increase the qualified workforce, and nurture women leaders, putting our hands to work to help women realize their potential in this area. I wish success to our participants embarking on a comprehensive education process focused on both technical and personal development, and I thank our partners for this valuable project that provides significant opportunities."
Cash Awards for the Top Three Projects In partnership with the Presidential Digital Transformation Office (CBDDO), the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), and the Turkish Artificial Intelligence Initiative (TRAI), Turkcell aims to foster the development of competent women leaders in artificial intelligence with the project set to launch in November. The program also aims to enhance inclusivity and accessibility in education by engaging women from all over Turkey.
After an extensive year-long training program, participants will work in teams of three to develop their projects under three main categories. Based on jury evaluations in each category, the winning teams will receive a total of 600,000 TL in support, with 200,000 TL awarded to each first-place team, facilitating the realization of their projects. Additionally, projects eligible for patents will also receive support in obtaining patents.
A Comprehensive Educational Journey in Artificial Intelligence The "Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar Yapay Zekâ" project will consist of two educational modules. In the first module, participants will receive comprehensive training in Python, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Science. Those who enhance their foundational skills will then have the opportunity to specialize in Natural Language Processing, Image Processing, and Advanced Machine Learning in the second module, bringing their project ideas to life.
All participants will have the chance to attend seminars provided by the CBDDO, and 100 individuals who qualify for certification in the first module will receive thematic training within the Digital Young Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem initiated by the CBDDO.
Beyond Technical Knowledge: Personal Development Support Participants will have access to a platform to meet with industry professionals through sector meetings organized by the CBDDO as part of the Digital Young Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem, enabling them to gain insight into industry trends, career opportunities, and innovations. Participants will develop their knowledge and experiences by interacting with industry professionals and mentors.
TOBB will support the dissemination of the project across provinces under the coordination of the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Board, offering participants personal development and mentorship opportunities. Meetings with graduates and academics from the TOBB University of Economics and Technology's Artificial Intelligence Department aim to contribute to participants' academic and professional growth. Successful participants graduating from the program will have the chance to share their knowledge and experience with new generations in vocational high schools through collaborations with Chambers and Exchanges affiliated with TOBB.
In addition to the technical training offered by Turkcell, the project will provide personal development and mentorship opportunities to help women overcome various challenges they may encounter in their career journeys.
With the partnership of TRAI, personal development mentorship support will be enhanced through seminars and training conducted by industry-expert trainers.
Participants will also receive training in essential areas such as project management, presentation techniques, financial literacy, networking, CV preparation, and interview skills.
By the end of the project, the goal is for women to have a more significant presence and leadership roles within Turkey's artificial intelligence ecosystem, thus adding value to this field and enhancing Turkey's competitive strength. The "Geleceği Yazan Kadınlar Yapay Zekâ" project offers a unique opportunity to cultivate qualified women leaders contributing to Turkey's technological future.
