‘Workshop on Accessibility in the Banking Sector’ Held

The "Accessibility Workshop in the Banking Sector" was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, and the Banks Association of Turkey. The workshop was attended by 40 representatives from banks and 35 civil society organizations representing various groups of people with disabilities.

Opening speeches were delivered by Pınar Erçetin, Head of the Financial Consumer Relations Department of the BDDK, and Dr. Deniz Çağlayan Gümüş, Head of the Accessibility Department of the General Directorate of Disabled and Elderly Services of the Ministry of Family and Social Services. During the workshop, presentations were made by Bilge Üstündağ Kıcıman, Senior Banking Expert at the BDDK’s Financial Consumer Relations Department, and Mehmet Gökdal, Family and Social Services Expert, regarding the current state and development of accessibility in the sector.

In the panel titled "Banking for Everyone: New Approaches, Opportunities, and Solutions in Accessibility," representatives from civil society organizations shared their experiences and recommendations related to banking practices. In the panel on "Accessibility Practices in the Banking Sector," bank representatives provided information on the accessibility practices and efforts of banks, and participants' questions were answered.
