How Did the Istanbul Stock Exchange Start the Day? Which Stocks Took the Spotlight at Opening?

The BIST 100 index started the day with a 0.12% increase at 8,872.22 points.

The BIST 100 closed at 8,862.32 points with a 2.83% increase in yesterday's trading. Following Trump's victory in the U.S. Presidential elections, the BIST 100 became one of the indexes that rose the most among global markets. After yesterday's increase, the index approached 260 dollars in dollar terms.

Yesterday, the trading volume in the BIST 100 was high at 97.8 billion TL, accounting for 81% of the total volume. In the BIST 100, 88 stocks rose while 12 stocks declined.

In the first hour of trading on Borsa Istanbul, the most sought-after sectors were communication, banking, and sports. Meanwhile, tourism, paper, and electricity were among the sectors that started the day with declines.

In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL was trading at 34.24 with a 0.12% increase in the morning hours. After yesterday's decline, the euro/TL recovered by 0.61% to reach 36.97. Gold per gram was up by 0.33%, trading at 2,935 TL.

In international markets, Asian indexes are preparing to close the day with gains while the Nikkei index remains slightly negative and flat. European indexes had a negative close yesterday, while U.S. indexes continued to rise. In the morning hours, the positive outlook in U.S. futures continued, while European futures showed a mixed appearance.
