Gardener: ISO Academy will Make a Qualified Contribution to the Future of Our Industry and Production Life
Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Board Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan stated, “At the ICC Academy, which we established to contribute to qualified human resources, we have reached nearly 200,000 participants since 2019, achieving over 90% satisfaction. The data showcases the success story of the ICC Academy.”
Bahçıvan added, “We are launching an online training platform at the ICC Academy, which has a vision of continuous education for the new generation, allowing our industrialists to access the information they need at any moment.”
The ICC Academy, established by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to contribute to Turkey’s qualified human resources and support participants in gaining knowledge and skills at international standards to enhance companies' competitiveness and brand value, introduced its new training program at its press launch with its renewed identity. The launch was hosted by ICC Board Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan, who welcomed guest speaker Prof. Dr. Selçuk Şirin from New York University. The panel discussion held during the launch addressed Future Education Strategies.
In his opening speech, ICC Board Chairman Erdal Bahçıvan emphasized that they have expressed for years that “the fundamental path to becoming an industrial and production society is qualified education” and highlighted that they have implemented various training projects in several areas, from vocational training to university-industry collaboration, stating, “The primary factor in technology and high value-added production is qualified individuals who can reflect their knowledge and skills in production. The ICC Academy, designed to embrace every segment with a lifelong learning approach, offers a significant contribution to our lives in various dimensions.”
Instead of rote learning, keeping up with current trends
Bahçıvan remarked that they will provide a qualified contribution to the future of the country’s industrial and production life through the ICC Academy, stating, “We are building the ICC Academy, which can produce much more effective solutions to today’s dynamic needs, as a learning ecosystem with the vision of ‘New Generation Continuous Education’ that will prepare our industry, business world, current employees, and youth for the future with creative solutions, collaborations, and continuous development.” Highlighting that lifelong learning programs play a key role in increasing labor productivity in developed countries according to OECD data, Bahçıvan stated, “Through the ICC Academy, we will support the development of our employees' current qualifications and equip them with new competencies for the future.” He shared the following information about the ICC Academy:
Online training will begin
“At the ICC Academy, we have created a structure that continuously renews itself and follows current trends instead of a rote-based system. We do not limit our training solely to improving technical skills, but also adopt a holistic approach that includes cultural awareness, social communication, and creative thinking. Since its establishment in 2019, the ICC Academy has reached nearly 200,000 participants with close to 1,000 training sessions, including Mini MBA programs and needs-based certification and specialization programs. Over 90% satisfaction has been achieved from these trainings, conducted by more than 360 instructors. The data illustrates the success story of the ICC Academy. With our new training management system, which will be accessible 24/7, we are also launching our online training platform that will allow our industrialists to access the information they need at any moment, keeping pace with the speed of the digital age.”
Bahçıvan noted, “This year, the number of industrial robots is expected to reach 4.3 million worldwide, and the number of connected devices is projected to hit 39 billion by 2030. These figures highlight the inevitable need for a workforce skilled in these technologies. The initial findings from our ICC Strategic Transformation Center also indicate that the area we need to focus on the most is human and workforce.”
